I can now predict a team from the National League will win the World Series, again

Amazing.

Drew Storen took the mound in the top of the ninth with a 7-5 lead and needed just three outs for the Nationals to advance to the NLCS. But the Cardinals fought back by scoring four runs to take a 9-7 lead. Nationals Park was completely juiced going into the inning, but it is now in stunned silence.

Storen gave up a leadoff double to Carlos Beltran before Matt Holliday grounded out and Allen Craig struck out swinging. However, Yadier Molina and David Freese walked to load the bases before Daniel Descalso singled off the glove off shortstop Ian Desmond to drive in two runs. After Descalso stole second base, Pete Kozma then doubled into right field to score two more.

The Cardinals were down to their last strike twice during the incredible rally. Sound familiar?

Look, now that the Rangers are out of the chase, I was hoping the Tigers would win it all. After this game, it’s too ironic to last year.

The St. Louis Cardinals are going to luck out and win the World Series again! You just can’t beat luck!

Need more proof? San Francisco was down 2-0 to the Reds, and came back and won 3 straight, to win the series.

So now we have the 2010 WS Champion Giants going against the 2011 WS Champion Cards. Say what you will, but the National League has something going on. Either of those two teams can beat either team lef in the American League. Book it.

Hmm…A true case of Deja Vu on a few fronts. Didn’t the Rangers originate from DC? When Texas lost Game 6 last year wasn’t that also the same score at one point?

Crazier still might we be seeing a 50 year anniversary reunion of the Yankees Giants? The last time Willie and Mickey faced off? Crazy finish Friday night. My mind kept going back to Game 6. Whoever the opponent is the A.L. will find out what the Rangers dealt with in 2010 and 2011.

    Thanks Lew!

Good point Will, yeah, the Rangers used to be the Washington Senators. How bizarre huh?
